Boz Gosto, USATT Certified Club Coach & Tournament Referee
Adnan “Boz” Gosto started active training in table tennis in 1979 in Yugoslavia.  He was fortunate to be under the supervision of some of the greatest European players of that time, such as Surbek and Stipanicic.  Under their tutelage, he developed a “counter game” which served him well as he became a member of the Cadet and Junior national teams.  Boz very much enjoyed playing table tennis with the teams, but in 1986, he decided to step into the Navy Academy and seek a different type of career.

After being away from table tennis for a number of years, in 2006, Boz discovered a small group of very dedicated people working on establishing the sport of table tennis in Northern Kentucky—the Northern Kentucky Table Tennis Club!  He decided to check it out and was made to feel very welcome and was encouraged to become an active member of the club.

Even though Boz has health issues, he is still finding the time and energy to help in this sport.  He has played several sanctioned and non-sanctioned tournaments in which he has had great success of late.  Recently, Boz attended a training camp with US National team coaches Dan Seemiller and Mark Nordby.  The tournaments and training camp have helped him to rekindle his love and devotion to table tennis.

Boz recently received his Club Coach certification from USATT.  In 2006, he passed the test to become a certified umpire.  You can find Boz “hitting the ball” at the Northern KY and the Cincinnati Table Tennis clubs, where he takes great pleasure in helping others improve their skills.  If anyone has any problems or wishes to work on any part of their game, they just have to ask.  Boz believes in “getting serious” and not wasting time at the table, since we are blessed to have the facilities available.  He also believes in the use of proper techniques, providing that you are trying to become a serious recreational or tournament table tennis player (not a “ping-pong” player).  If you have any questions or need guidance in “how to,” just see Boz at either club.
